China silk is a soft, lightweight, lustrous silk made wth a tight, plain weave and very fine yarns, originally handwoven in China of hand-reeled silk. China silk has a limp, soft, thin hand and a slippery, smooth texture.
Although there is a small difference between China silk and habotai the two terms are often used interchangeably. Additional confusion is created by the fact that a type of common lightweight polyester lining fabric is referred to as China silk-even though there is no silk in it. The Hangloose lining sold on our site is significantly heavier than the "China silk" polyester lining.
