Why does a fabric store need so much fabric warehouse space?

Our denverfabrics.com site is supplied from four fabric warehouse locations. These fabric warehouse facilities are necessitated by the nature of our purchasing activity. We buy manufacturer fabric surpluses, which is why we can offer low prices. When manufacturers bring in fabric for a new season, they need to clear out their own fabric warehouse space, and they need to do that fast.

This means that when the manufacturer surpluses become available we need to move quickly and make our purchase. Because we know there will be no opportunity to return for a reorder, we buy for both current and future needs. Consequently, we need lots of fabric warehouse space.
